Summer selling season- when is it? WHAT is it?
June, July, and August are the highest selling months of the year. More homes sell in these three months than any other time of the year.
In June of 2019, interest rates dropped below 4%, something many of us thought we wouldn’t see again. This will spur additional homes being put on the market as well as extra buyers hitting the market, since they have extra buying power now.
June is typically a high sales month, with a slight dip in July, then back up in August, as home buyers with children scramble to find a home before the school season starts.
If you are considering selling your home during the summer season, you’ll want your home on the market at the end of May or beginning of June. This gives you great exposure. But if you want to put your home on the market by May/June, you may need to start the home selling process in April.
If it’s already summer and you want to take advantage of the summer selling season, be prepared to make quick decisions, commit to speedy de-cluttering, and get with an agent immediately. It typically takes about 2-4 weeks from when you reach out to a Realtor to when your home actually hits the market. It takes another 4-6 weeks once your home is on the market until you close on the home (sometimes longer!).
All of this to say- if you want to sell your home in the 2019 summer season!? Act fast!!
